House Speaker Mike Johnson criticized midterm election polls during an interview with Fox News Sunday, claiming they are based on faulty analysis and have failed to accurately reflect Republican performance. Johnson emphasized that the polls are not reliable, especially in swing districts where the GOP is making significant gains.

“Those polls are wrong. They’re based on faulty analysis,” Johnson said during the interview with host Shannon Bream. He pointed to recent polling data that suggested Democratic victories, despite strong Republican results on election night. Bream questioned why the predictions were off, prompting Johnson to explain that polling organizations have been exposed for fraudulent numbers in recent weeks.

“In the last week, Shannon, you’ve had two polling organizations nationwide being exposed for completely fraudulent numbers,” Johnson said. He added that traditional pollsters are now acknowledging they’ve been undersampling Republicans, which has led to a significant disconnect between the data and actual voter behavior.

“Republicans are no longer responding to polls,” Johnson continued. He described visiting swing districts and noting that very few Republicans were participating in polls. “When I’m in these big arenas, Shannon, I ask for hands. Show me your hand if you’ve answered a poll in the last six months. They’ll be like three hands among 300 people,” he said.

Johnson also addressed his role as Speaker of the House, stating that while the job is not easy, he feels confident in the party’s efforts. “I know we are doing the right thing for the right reason,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to the GOP’s agenda.

Despite the challenges, Johnson remains optimistic about the midterms, citing strong turnout in key districts. His comments reflect a broader GOP narrative that the polls are not accurately capturing the current political landscape, and that the party is on the verge of reclaiming control in the House.
