President Donald Trump renewed his endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, urging Israelis to re-elect him in Tuesday’s election. Trump called for a renewed effort to combat Iran, asserting that the partnership between him and Netanyahu has led to significant military successes against the country.

Trump’s Call for Continued Action Against Iran

“Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister, we have to finish the job that we started!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. In his endorsement, Trump highlighted the military operations that targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities and weakened its armed forces. He cited operations such as Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury as key to Iran’s current state of economic and military devastation.

“Then we did Operation Epic Fury, and Iran now has No Navy, No Air Force, and both their Military and Economy are in shambles,” Trump declared. He also pointed to Iran’s economic collapse, with inflation reaching 301 percent, and credited the U.S. naval blockade for restricting Iran’s oil revenue. Trump emphasized the elimination of successive levels of Iran’s military and political leadership as a result of the partnership.

Netanyahu’s Campaign and Trump’s Appeal

Trump warned that a Netanyahu defeat could leave the U.S. to confront Iran without a key ally. “If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so,” he wrote. Netanyahu, in response, stated, “Together we will complete the mission!”

The renewed endorsement follows private appeals from Netanyahu for additional public support, according to a report by Axios. The report cited a U.S. source familiar with the conversations, stating that Netanyahu spoke with Trump twice in the preceding three days, asking for reinforcement of his endorsement. Netanyahu’s Likud party denied the report, with a spokeswoman stating the prime minister had not requested campaign support from Trump.

Trump’s Dilemma: Deal or Destroy?

Trump also addressed the question of whether to negotiate with Tehran or launch another round of military strikes. “Do I make a deal with them or do I finish them off? That’s the only question,” he said during an interview on Fox News. Final polls ahead of Tuesday’s election showed neither Netanyahu’s coalition nor the opposition bloc reaching the 61 seats needed for a majority in Israel’s 120-seat parliament.

Netanyahu released a campaign video featuring an AI-generated image of a nuclear explosion over Tel Aviv, warning of a potential “second Holocaust” if Iran were allowed to develop nuclear weapons. During a visit to an Israeli Arrow missile-defense battery, he also warned of potential attacks to disrupt the election, citing Israeli intelligence.

Israelis head to the polls Tuesday, and the impact of Trump’s renewed endorsement of Israel’s longest-serving prime minister remains an open question.
