Bethenny Frankel, a former star of ‘Real Housewives of New York City’, has publicly criticized franchise executive producer Andy Cohen after he reportedly dismissed her potential return to the show during a panel discussion.
Frankel Takes Aim at Cohen’s Comments
In a TikTok video posted over the weekend, Frankel responded to Cohen’s remarks, which she claimed were dismissive of her involvement with the show. She said, ‘Well, Andy Cohen took a swipe at me on a panel, so let’s take the bait,’ as she took the opportunity to address his comments.
Frankel pointed out that Cohen was asked if she would ever return to ‘Housewives,’ and he responded by saying he wasn’t very active on TikTok. She countered by stating that his lack of engagement on the platform was evident, as he remained in the same position she had left him.
Frankel Calls Cohen Bitter Over Lost Cast Members
Frankel also accused Cohen of being bitter over the departure of former cast members, including Luann de Lesseps, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, and Dorinda Medley, who she said are now living the ‘golden life’ on E!.
She further criticized Cohen for his position on Bravo, where he is described as living the ‘stainless steel life’ and waiting for others to pay his paycheck, while she and other cast members are making their own way on their own terms.
Frankel’s Past Disputes with Cohen
Frankel and Cohen have had previous disagreements, including in 2022 when Cohen accused her of ‘trashing’ the franchise and called it hypocritical for her to host a podcast about it. She has also previously complained about not being paid fairly for her time on the show, stating she has generated millions in advertising and online impressions but never received residuals.
Frankel’s Stance on Reality TV and Residuals
Frankel has been vocal about her frustrations with the reality TV industry, particularly regarding residuals. She has claimed that the lack of fair compensation for her work on the show has been a long-standing issue, and she has not been paid for the millions of dollars she has generated in advertising and online impressions.
