U.S. Prepares Major Offensive Against Iran Within 96 Hours
U.S. military readiness for potential strike on Iran sparks concerns of regional escalation.

The U.S. military is reportedly preparing for a potential major offensive against Iran, with operations set to begin within 96 hours of a presidential order. American forces are already stationed in the Middle East, ready to target Iranian military installations, nuclear facilities, and energy infrastructure, according to two anonymous U.S. officials who spoke to CNN. Although President Donald Trump has not yet authorized the strikes, the Pentagon’s extensive preparations are being driven by intelligence warnings of possible Iranian retaliation and pressure from Israel to take military action.
A senior Pentagon official clarified that the Department of Defense is a planning organization, responsible for developing and executing military options as directed by the President. The official emphasized that the current planning is not a final decision but rather a readiness exercise to ensure the U.S. is prepared for any scenario. The potential operation would go beyond past efforts, which were described as a routine “mow the lawn” strategy aimed at maintaining regional stability by targeting Iranian assets like radars and launchers. This new operation is described as a “big effort” with a broader scope.
All indications are that U.S. is heading back to war. The next round could be larger and more devastating for Iran but also for the Middle East. It may not be the end of the conflict but the start of a broader unraveling for the region with lasting consequences for the global economy as well. Washington and Israel want to knock out Iran with bigger blows but likelihood of that is low. There will be a lot of devastation before there is an end in sight
The U.S. may be poised to execute a significant military operation in the weeks following the midterm elections, as first reported by the DCNF on October 18. Intelligence assessments indicate that Iran and the Houthis are taking the threat of continued U.S. or Israeli attacks very seriously, with plans to retaliate against American personnel and facilities in the Middle East and beyond. According to an Oct. 17 memo from Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Iran has “substantially increased efforts to target U.S. personnel,” with plotting efforts reaching advanced stages in both the Middle East and other countries.
