In a dramatic twist, Jacqueline ‘Jax’ Guelli, a star of the Netflix series Love Is Blind, ended her engagement to Scott ‘Stew’ Stewart after comparing him to Mitt Romney during their first meeting. The incident has sparked discussions about the show’s premise and the expectations of its participants.

Unexpected Comparison

Guelli and Stewart became engaged without meeting in person, as is the show’s requirement. However, their first meeting ended with Guelli walking out, citing a lack of chemistry. During a confessional interview, Guelli revealed that she initially expected her fiancé to resemble JFK, but instead, she saw a resemblance to Mitt Romney.

“I don’t want to be mean,” she whispered when asked to explain her feelings, according to TODAY. She later admitted she had doubts about the relationship before the face-to-face meeting. “So it looks very black and white when you watch it, but in reality, I was already feeling that way,” she said, as reported by People.

Emotional Fallout

Guelli described the meeting as “incredibly intense and overwhelming” and realized there was no connection. “When I sat down, I kind of realized there’s no chemistry or connection here. And I had to go,” she explained.

Stewart, on the other hand, expressed that the experience was emotionally overwhelming. “I proposed to this person, sight unseen. The doors open, and you see them cross the red carpet. You walk up and greet them, and it’s just so overwhelming,” he said.

Despite the negative outcome, Stewart said he doesn’t hold it against Guelli. “She probably would have approached that differently had she had a different chance, had the emotions going through her mind not been going through her mind,” he added.

Public Reactions

Guelli also defended her comments about Stewart, stating she was unapologetically herself. “I didn’t mean for it to be… It’s actually, not like, not a compliment. Mitt Romney’s wicked hot; I think he’s so handsome,” she said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The episode has left fans and critics alike speculating about the show’s portrayal of love and compatibility. New episodes of Love Is Blind Season 11 air on Netflix, with the finale scheduled for November 4.
