House Democrats’ top super PAC has invested over $2.2 million in deep red districts that President Donald Trump won by double-digit margins, as the midterms approach. The House Majority PAC allocated $2.2 million for television ads targeting Republican Rep. Brad Finstad in Minnesota’s first district and $380,000 against Republican Rep. Victoria Spartz in Indiana’s fifth district. Trump secured Spartz’s district by 17 points and Finstad’s by 12 points, according to recent polling data.
A KAAL-TV/Survey USA poll revealed Democratic candidate Jake Johnson leading Finstad by two points, while Spartz is currently ahead of Democratic Indiana state Sen. J.D. Ford. However, the Cook Political Report shifted the race in Spartz’s district from “Solid Republican” to “Likely Republican,” indicating a slight shift in favor of the GOP.
“With eight days until Election Day, Democrats continue to expand the map and push Republicans further and further on defense,” House Majority PAC President Mike Smith stated. “Next week, Democrats will take back the House, and Hakeem Jeffries will be elected the next Speaker.”

Cook Political Report also shifted 19 House races toward Democrats, including several in traditionally red districts. The report moved four Republican-held seats from “Toss Up” to “Lean Democratic,” including the districts of Reps. Juan Ciscomani of Arizona, Gabe Evans of Colorado, Jen Kiggans of Virginia, and Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin. Two additional races in Texas’ 34th district and North Carolina’s 11th district also shifted toward Democratic candidates.
Republicans have adjusted their strategy, with the Congressional Leadership Fund slashing $6 million from Florida’s 25th district and allocating $9 million to districts held by Republicans. The 25th district was redrawn to benefit Republicans, and Trump’s political operation, the No Stepping Back PAC, has spent over $25 million on House races, including $6.3 million in Florida’s 25th district.
Meanwhile, Republicans have increased spending in red state Senate races, including Texas, Kansas, and Iowa, to secure those seats after the midterms. They have reduced spending in North Carolina and Georgia, where Democratic candidates hold strong leads.
