A shooting near Florida A&M University’s Bragg Memorial Stadium during homecoming weekend has left at least 12 people injured, including six children, according to local authorities. The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, near an intersection adjacent to the stadium, where the Rattlers had just played against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions.

Officials Confirm Six Children Among the Injured

Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence E. Revell provided details during a Saturday night news conference, stating that six of the victims were adults and six were juveniles, with the youngest being only 11 years old. He confirmed that 11 individuals suffered gunshot wounds, while one person was injured while attempting to escape the scene.

Revell emphasized that the incident was an isolated altercation between two or three individuals, though he did not provide further details about the nature of the conflict. He also noted that no arrests have been made, and that authorities are still investigating to determine the cause and identify those responsible.

Victims Remain Anonymous, No Public Identification

Chief Revell declined to publicly identify the victims, though officials believe one of the injured may be a Florida A&M University student. He urged any witnesses to come forward, emphasizing that the department’s priority is to understand what happened and bring those responsible to justice.

The incident has raised concerns about public safety during large gatherings, particularly during homecoming events. While the university has not issued a formal statement, the community is awaiting further information from law enforcement.
