Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant found himself in a tense situation after a road rage incident that led to his arrest. The incident occurred outside a restaurant in the Dallas area on Sunday, where Bryant was allegedly confronted by two young adults over how they were driving.
Confrontation Escalates
Bryant told OutKick that the trouble began when a young driver cut him off just outside the restaurant. As the two vehicles entered the restaurant’s parking lot, Bryant confronted the driver, leading to an argument. According to Bryant, the driver became aggressive, talking ‘crazy’ and even threatening him with a gun.
“He get out of the car, he talking crazy,” Bryant said. “I get out of the car, I’m talking my mess. And he go to threatening me.” The situation escalated further when the driver pulled out a phone and began filming Bryant. In response, Bryant knocked the phone out of the driver’s hand and told him to call the police, as he felt threatened.
Officer Intervention and Arrest
When police arrived on the scene, they brought out rifles and cuffed all parties involved. Bryant claimed that the officers sided with the men he was arguing with and told him to be the ‘bigger person.’ He questioned how he could be the bigger person, emphasizing his right to protect himself.
Bryant was ultimately issued a citation for assault, given a future court date, and allowed to leave. The incident highlights the potential dangers of road rage and the escalation that can occur during confrontations.
